Keiko Shimizu
was educated in the rudiments of art at Musashino Art College and the Kuwazawa design school in Japan. She then worked for a major clothing company as a designer for few years and discovered porcelain painting when she worked as a free-lance artist.
She studied the techniques of porcelain painting at The Harajuku Togasha ceramic studio and the prestigious Okura China Painting School in Japan. This was followed by her attending seminars of porcelain art painting at the “Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen GmbH” in Germany. After that, she continued to study and received the IPAT Master Artist & Teacher certificate. In addition, she studied and attained the First Class level for the National Qualification of Painting Expert in Japan.
In recent years, she has participated in international conventions where she gives demonstrations of her work and she has already written two books in Japan.
