Melanie Foster
Born in 1964, Melanie Foster learned porcelain painting in the well-known German manufactory Fürstenberg. Over a period of 14 years, she could gain experience in many painting techniques and decors. In the area of product development, varied impressions from cooperation with on-site designers have had a lasting influence on her work. Carried by her enthusiasm for shapes and colours, the artist decided to open her own painting studio in 1996.

Especially the classical painting style, namely “getting very precise and fine brush strokes with her own oil development and excellent brushes” distinguishes her painting. Her work always possesses a certain something, often with surprises which you only realise after more than a first glance.

Through looking after trainees during her time working at the company and by training hand painters in the manufactory, Mrs Foster was able to acquire a specific didactic knowledge. It is an important personal concern of hers to pass on directly and helpfully her knowledge to people who are as enthusiastically active in art as she is.
